ophc-6951-midWith the NFL betting season about to get underway many fans from other sports are flocking to football. For the fans new to betting on NFL games, here is a look at the top three games and some free picks to watch during week one.

1.   Houston Texans v Indianapolis Colts – This offseason many NFL experts predicted that if any team was going to knock the Colts off their high horse in the AFC South it would be the Texans. For the last few seasons, the Texans have grown into a more mature team. Last season they almost made the playoffs, however, the one key loss during the season came at the hands of their divisional rival the Indianapolis Colts.

Last season Peyton Manning and the Colts won 14 games, but his high offensive numbers of years past were not on display. If age is catching up to Peyton, the Texans may in fact win the division this year. Never the less, this game should be a high scoring affair that many fans will want to bet on.

2.   Arizona Cardinals v St. Louis Rams – You may be looking at this pick and scratching your head, but trust us you will want to pick this week one affair. Many around the league will want to see how the young Sam Bradford fairs in his first professional game, after missing much of his senior year with a shoulder injury.

Conversely, USC and Cardinals fans alike will finally get a chance to see Matt Leinart in action for a full game now that Kurt Warner has retired. Both teams made a lot of offseason moves, but we still feel Leinart should guide the Cardinals to a win.

3.   Baltimore Ravens v New York Jets – Two of the busiest teams in the offseason collide in the first week of the season. This game could be the most ever viewed game on Monday Night in NFL history.
