Are the Lakers In Trouble?
NBA playoff betting fans should rethink their stance on the Los Angeles Lakers versus Phoenix Suns series. After the first two games, many betting fans were justified in believing that the Lakers would cruise past the Suns to proceed to their third straight NBA finals appearance. However, Steve Nash and the rest of the Suns are displaying to the Lakers something that has not been seen in a long time in Phoenix, resiliency. In years past the Suns constantly struggled in the first two rounds of the playoffs after dominating in the regular season. Although dropping the first two games of the Western Conference finals to the Lakers, the Suns have come back to tie the series after winning both games at home. Their most recent victory was last night when they defeated the Lakers 115-106. Look for this series to go to seven games, as the Lakers appear to be having more trouble with the Suns then they had anticipated.
Will Halak Return To The Hab’s?
Ever since the Vancouver Olympics in February, Slovakian goaltender Jaroslav Halak has been the best goaltender in the league. But sometimes, the best is not enough. As proven in a five game exit at the hands of the Philadelphia Flyers, Halak at his best was done in by exhaustion after standing on his head through fourteen games in the first two rounds. This offseason Halak along with backup goaltender Carey Price will be a restricted free agent for the Montreal Canadiens. The biggest question will be whether or not Jaroslav Halak returns to the Canadiens. After playing perhaps the best hockey of his career, Halak will surely be asking Montreal management for a pay raise. If the Hab’s cannot give Halak the money and long term commitment he will be looking for, Halak need not worry as their will be plenty of teams vying for his services.
