Problems Pile On For Tiger

Golf betting players have been seeing the chinks in the armor for Tiger Woods ever since his well-publicized scandal hit the newspapers last November.  Now, he’s lost his swing coach and is facing an injury.

Tiger Woods

Woods split with Hank Haney on Monday in a decision that looks to have been made by the swing coach, who helped Woods win six majors in six years of working together.  Woods hasn’t announced who his next coach would be, although some would argue that he has to sort out things on the personal side of his life before he looks for a new swing coach.  Some even wonder why Woods even needs a swing coach.  One would think that Woods has enough knowledge of his swing to make the necessary changes, but apparently not, and some think that he’ll end up back with Butch Harmon, with whom Woods won his first eight major championships.

Now, Woods has an inflamed joint in his neck that was the reason for his withdrawal from The Players Championship, an injury he said that he picked up before he returned at The Masters, and while the adrenaline of Augusta may have fired him to a fourth-place result, it wore off in normal events, and it’s been bothering him.  Tiger’s swing causes such a violent turn that there is no way he could make a normal swing without being in pain, and he figures he won’t be out for long, hoping to return at the Jack Nicklaus-hosted Memorial Tournament, which he has won four times.  Still, Woods still has bigger things on his plate, which is while betting players may want to avoid him for the next little while.
